What is greenback?
The Greenback card will entitle you to discounts on a wide range of goods and services. The companies supporting the card have a strong sustainability policy and are keen to attract customers who want to fuel the GREEN pound.
Ecoisland is an evolving sustainable community. By buying one of these GREENback cards you are helping to fuel sustainability on the Isle of Wight. Every card purchase makes a contribution to our Ecoisland Projects which include electric bikes, electric cars, recycling, water harvesting and conservation, local food production and distribution, renewable energy technology and environmental initiatives. You will be helping to restore the balance of nature on our Garden Isle.
Your contribution will also help to fuel the GREEN economy by bringing ethical GREEN companies together with consumers who are aligned with their desire to make the Island a GREENER place. As more purchasers spend their money with retailers who are acting in a sustainable way the eco-nomy will slowly migrate to more sustainable activity – helping the planet and making Ecoisland an even cooler place to live in and visit.
It will also make a contribution to our Eco Centre, which is currently under development. It is a bit like the Eden Project in that it seeks to inspire and inform people to live a more sustainable life but it is focused more on technological solutions and innovations making it very exciting for the younger generations.
