The www.eco-island.org site is the official website of the Ecoisland Partnership Community Interest Company and the official retailer of GREENback discount membership cards. The CIC operates just like any other company in that it can buy and sell things, borrow and loan money, take investment and trade. An ‘asset lock’ means that all assets are locked in to the community it serves.
Any profit generated from purchases made online goes towards current Ecoisland Partnership CIC projects, running outreach events, renewable energy technologies, communications and the HUB.
The website was launched and began trading on the 15th April 2011. The Ecoisland Partnership CIC is based in Cowes on the Isle of Wight. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 7532908.
Conditions of purchase
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully. You should understand that by ordering any of our products or services, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you have any questions, or if you want to clarify anything, please contact us via the methods stated in our contact us section. When you place an order we will send you an email confirming our acceptance of the order. It is only when you receive this email that a contract is formed between us and you.
All products are offered subject to stock availability, and lack of availability may result in a delay. We will contact you by email with information and estimated delivery details should the need arise.
You can make changes to your order at any time up to the point that you submit your order after entering your payment details. Changes to orders after that point are dealt with through the returns/re-ordering process described below.
Payment on the www.eco-island.org website can be made via PayPal only.
When you submit your order, you are confirming that your payment details are valid and correct.
All stated delivery times assume delivery to the UK Mainland (which includes Anglesey and the Isle of Wight). Deliveries to British Forces Post Office address, Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands & Islands, Isle of Man, Isles of Scilly and the Channel Islands will take longer.
If an item fails to arrive at its destination, please allow 30 days before contacting us. As per Royal Mail’s terms, an item is not classed as lost until 30 working days from dispatch.
We will do our best to make sure your order reaches you in a reasonable time scale. We cannot, unfortunately, be responsible for anything unexpected that occurs once the item has been dispatched but we will endeavour to remedy the situation in a way agreeable to both parties.
We hope you’ll be delighted with your purchase. If for any reason you want to return it, you can, within 30 days from the day that you receive the product.
We cannot be responsible for any goods that we do not receive, so we suggest that you send any returns back to us using some form of guaranteed delivery that requires a signature.
Once an order has been placed (you have completed the order online and we have sent you an Order Acknowledgement email) it cannot be stopped. Any errors must be corrected using this returns process.
When you return a product to us
Because you have cancelled the contract within 30 days of receipt in accordance with the terms above, we will process the refund due to you as soon as possible and, where the return is by post, within 30 days of the day you have given notice of your cancellation. Products returned by you because of a defect will be refunded in full. We are unable to refund the cost of returning the item to us. If you wish to cancel your membership for any other reason during the year of your membership, please write to us or send us an email with detail. We will review cases individually and, if applicable, issue a full or partial refund depending on the circumstances and length of time the card has been in use.
We will usually refund any money received from you using the same method originally used by you to pay for your purchase.
Products returned to us must arrive in the same condition in which you received them and in re-saleable condition.
We have the right to revise and amend these terms and conditions from time to time. You will be subject to the terms and conditions in force at the time that you ordered from us.
Applicable laws require that some of the information or communications we send to you should be in writing. When using our Site, you accept that communication with us will be mainly electronic. We will contact you by e-mail or provide you with information by posting notices on our Site. For contractual purposes, you agree to this electronic means of communication and you acknowledge that all contracts, notices, information and other communications that we provide to you electronically comply with any legal requirement that such communications be in writing. This condition does not affect your statutory rights.
