The story so far :-

PV installed.
Voltage optimiser installed.
Power meter showing consumption installed
Loft insulated.
Cavity insulated.
Electric CH boiler removed.
Energy rating reduced from G to D.
Harvesting rain from stable roof.
Growing some Veg.

Short term.
Install Pellet Boiler.
Insulate doors.
Investigate LED lighting.
Investigate hydrogen cell for domestic “storage”.
Experiment with diy solar (hot water) panel.
Experiment with diy solar oven.

Longer term.
Grow more Veg.
Find a suitable renewable course and study.

Anyone out there doing anything similar and want to swap info?

It is sunny so I’m off to put the kettle on.

Recycling Sails

A grand overall project, but at wightsails I have just shredded the sails we can’t use for products and I plan to use this material for a number of projects such as: loft insulation, toy stuffing, general packaging (instead of polystyrene balls and the like). If anyone should know anything about this or has any other ideas for use of this product I would be greateful for a chat.

I am already collecting sails from marinas and sailmakers and my goal is to become the leading sail recycler in the country, eventually stripping sail fibre (especially carbon) and selling back to the manufacturer.

Anyone going to this. And if you did, any thoughts afterwards.
How does any of this apply to us.
I’d rather spend my energy on making a difference than protesting so I’m not sure the film will help me, but I’m going with an open mind tonight. Hope to meet some of you perhaps?
