The Life of Eek
Our loveable mascot Eek was born when we officially launched Ecoisland in April 2011. As well as adding an element of youth to the Ecoisland brand, Eek is a cheeky young man who often says things that us grown ups aren't allowed to say!
Ecoisland CEO David Green knew exactly who he had in mind for the job of creating Eek, and approached renowned Isle of Wight cartoonist Rupert Besley with his concept. Rupert bought Eek to life, and gave him an entire family, Eek's Dad, future baby brother and pet friend Fluff are pictured below.
In November 2011 we gave Eek his very own Facebook page and he immediately took the opportunity to show off his fetching Movember moustache. Eek now has over 500 friends and checks his page every day to see what his fellow Ecoislanders are up to.
Eek helps us to spread the word about Ecoisland events including beach cleans and Greentank meetings, and is known for his musings on environmental issues online.
