They can provide heat pumps, solar panels, solid fuel stoves &flues as well as solar thermal. Their website has lots of information about changing to heat pumps, and the efficiency of other methods of heating. Wight energy can help Island residents with Solar PV, Solar Thermal, Air Source Heat Pump, Solar Water Heating and Wind Turbine installation on both residential and commercial scales. They also provide information about the current feed in tariffs.

RG Combustions is a family run business, with over 40 years experience in the industry. They also know a bit about renewable technologies, too. They can help with Ground Source Heat Pumps, Air Source Heat Pumps and Rainwater Harvesting.

Warmahome is a project on the Isle of Wight directed at homes with low incomes to help them reduce their energy costs. They can provide free home assessments and advice on how to reduce carbon footprints, boilers windows and insulation and of course slashing energy bills. They have also been able to negotiate a rate on loft and cavity insulation, whereby homeowners will get it free of charge or for a heavily subsidised rate.

Tom’s Eco Lodges offer so much more than just glamping. Located on Tapnell Farm in Yarmouth, each lodge can sleep up to six people making excellent accommodation for a family or great for a holiday with some mates or even your dog! The eco lodges have great facilities including hot showers, running water, electricity, flushing toilets and a stove, oven and BBQ! The farm are make endless commitments to the environment, the lodges are crafted from natural canvas and wood, the barn and cottages have solar panels installed to generate energy, but they don’t stop there – the Eco Lodge crew have worked on planting acres of land with new trees, to compensate for what they use in the stoves and for the lodges. If all that wasn’t enough, the 300 cows on the farm supply us with 8,000 litres of milk per day – yum! The Enchanted Manor – Niton
The Enchanted Manor is exactly what it says on the tin – a beautiful, mystical manor in Niton, inspired by the paintings of Josephine Wall. Surrounded by an acre of woodland, the Enchanted Manor is a luxurious hideaway, each room is individually decorated with it’s own character, featuring hand carved four poster beds, roll top baths and deluxe showers. The really green holiday company offer eco-friendly get-aways on the Isle of Wight in their 16 ft, fully furnished yurts. Each yurt can sleep up to 5 people and has it’s own outdoor cooking area (and a tented cooking & seating area for the rainy days). The Needles Park – Alum Bay
The Needles Park in Alum Bay boasts many ‘GREEN’ policies. Since their involvement with the Carbon Trust, the Needles Park have trained their staff in ‘thinking green’ and advised them of ways they can do their bit to help the environment. They have also created a large recycling scheme, they can recycle things like card, paper, bottles and even mobile phones, printer cartridges as well as oil and food waste. They take things further by giving all staff – even temporary – a free bus pass for commuting to work, which 90% are able to use, the remaining 10% car pool, reducing their impact, too. They have even increased their planting across the site and put up more bird boxes, encouraging more of the Island’s precious wildlife to visit – so keep an eye out when you visit!

The Eco Film Company are a sustainable imaging and ideas organisation on the Island. They make the most of the beautiful surroundings on the Isle of Wight and measure how much carbon is produced on each shoot – they will even plant trees to compensate!

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust
The Wildlife Trust is a nationwide charity who have nature reserves and run conservation activities all over the UK.
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight branch have nature reserves on the Island including Ningwood, St Lawrence Undercliff and Arreton Downs.
There are many ways to get involved in the Trust, including volunteering on their conservation days.

The Footprint Trust
A registered charity who work with the Isle of Wight community to promote the benefits of sustainable living.

Natural Enterprise is a company based on the Isle of Wight who offer environmental consultancy and run projects to help the Isle of Wight economy.
